Forsham Oak Ltd is a family-run business with 40 years of experience in carpentry and customer service located in kent. We are passionate about creating unique, handcrafted shepherds huts that are truly one of a kind and provide a unique retreat for our customers.

What are the dimensions of your huts?Our standard size is 5.4m by 2.5m but of course, the size of our huts can be customised to suit you.

Do we need foundations for a shepherds hut?Yes, the shepherds hut needs to be put on level solid ground. This can be done with either 1 large concrete pad or 4 smaller pads underneath each wheel. We can help you with getting this done if you do not have a foundation, just let us know during the consultation.

Do your huts have a warranty?Our huts come with a 6 month warranty. The warranty covers labour only. So if you damage the worktop, you would only have to pay for the materials and fuel required. Anything that is wrong due to manufacture error within the first 6 months we will come to repair at no extra cost.

Are your Shepherd Huts well insulated?Yes! Our huts walls, ceilings and floors are full to the brim with 150mm fibre glass insulation. Which is sure to keep the hut warm on those cold winter nights.

Do you furnish the shepherds hut?Furnishing the hut really depends on which package you decide on. We are more than happy to furnish any hut if it is desired, however, we do recommend that you furnish the hut yourself to give it that personal touch.

I can't find the exact hut I need. Can I customise your huts?The huts on our website are just a guideline to give you an idea of what we can offer. We are more than happy to adjust each of our listed huts to suit your specific needs. Take a look at our huts and use one of the forms to begin the consultation process with Forsham Oak.

How do I order my custom hut?All you need to do is contact us using one of the forms on the product pages or call us on 08000982822. This will begin your consultation process with us. You will be able to let us know about any customisations you'll need and we will even invite you to visit our site to view our huts in person.

How do you take payment?If you are ordering a bespoke shepherds hut, we will do the payment in 3 stages via bank transfer. The first payment being the deposit, the second half way through the build then the final payment will be required upon delivery. If you are buying a standard hut that we have in stock then we will require 1/3rd for the deposit and the remaining 2/3rds on delivery. We can also offer a finance option.

Which regions can you service?We can deliver our huts to anywhere in the UK! 🇬🇧

How is the shepherds hut delivered and is there a fee for this?We have a delivery company that will pick up your new shepherds hut from our site in Kent. They will load it onto a flat bed and deliver it to your address. The lorry has a small crane attached which will load it on and off the flat bed. Delivery is an additional cost and is calculated per mile.

What is the usual turnaround time for one of your shepherds huts?You can usually expect your custom shepherds hut within 6-7 weeks of ordering. This can depend on how many other huts we are building at the time but we will give you a more accurate estimation at the time of ordering.

Do you build off-grid huts?Our huts are generally on-grid but we can build off-grid huts if required!

Do you need planning permission?Planning permission depends on your local authority. We can give advice if you are local to the Kent / East Sussex area.
